20th of October Green Drinks with Wash not Waste

This month we are showcasing our shinny new Wash Not Waste trailer.

Wash Not Waste is an event waste reduction program, aimed to help event organisers deal with excessive amounts questionably compostable food packaging at the end of their events. Compostable packaging options sound good in theory, but the reality is often these products are only compostable in commercial systems that are not widely accessible, or the packaging contains sneaky plastics or nasty chemicals we don't want in our compost anyway! So instead of wading into the confusing debate over which compostable packaging is good and which isn't, let's bypass it all and go old school. Borrow a plate or cup from the Wash not Waste trailer, get your goodies, then return your items for washing afterwards. Easy as!

We're showcasing our trailer and event set up, with loads of info about how this can help events all over Northland keep rubbish out of landfill and make your fun day out less impactful on Papatuanuku.

6-7.30pm | He Awhi Rito, 8 First Ave, Whangarei. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
